Well, kind of.
This isn’t my first blog.
I actually started a blog in 2018 because I watched the movie Mother! and as a Horror movie fan, it made me irrationally angry, so I started a blog doing horror movie reviews. It went well for a few months, but then work got busy and I stopped writing. When I had the idea about starting this blog I logged back into WordPress and there she was.
I still had all my social medias set up for it.
Twitter Tumblr Facebook Instagram I added a Letterboxd account and went back to writing Horror reviews.

This week I spent $110 AUD to upgrade that blog to the Explorer Plan (I will add, they sent me a discount normally it cost $144 AUD). The Explorer Plan allows you to monetize your blog with ads., along with a bunch of other features.

Before upgrading, I would have to push pretty hard on my socials to get views. The social media aspect sometimes took longer than actually watching and reviewing the movies. But since upgrading I am getting a lot more views from SEO and from the WordPress reader. So I think WordPress pushes paying customers a bit more than people that use the free plan.

I am still only averaging about 20 views per day. So definitely not enough to make any money yet, but I will keep you updated on how that progresses and if it is worth the money.
