The Truth About Side Hustles

March Sales Update

At the end of February, I gave myself a goal of listing 5 items every day on both eBay and Depop. Whilst I was a lot more consistent than I was last month. There were a few days that I missed. I still managed to get 84 new items listed, and I changed up a bunch of my old listings. By ending the listing and using the “Sell Similar” function, I changed up my titles and changed the price points.
When using the “sell similar” button, it creates a new eBay ID which in the eyes of eBay, is a brand new listing.

So does being consistent actually make a difference in your sales?
let’s compare.
In February I only listed 23 items and had 9 orders with a profit of $108.77.

This is what March looked like. So is it a fluke, or is consistency the key?
Only 4 of those sales were on Depop, which is the same as last month. I was hoping that number would go up, but consistent sales are still better than no sales.
Whilst this is excellent progress, I have put myself on a sourcing ban for at least a week, which means I will not be going out and buying any new items for my store.
I have done this because my overall net profit isn’t great.

This is because I still have not made my money back from the $350 “wholesale bundle” I purchased in January which I talked about here. I also bought myself a label printer and labels I also had a restock on my boxes and mailing bags. Plus my store subscription and the cost of the software I am now using to track my expenses.

So my plan of April, is store maintenance, I will do a separate post explaining exactly what that entails and link it here once I am finished.
But I need to get that net profit into the green before I spend more money on inventory.
